This forward-thinking school is seeking a qualified English specialist to join their thriving English department from January/February 2026 until Christmas 2026 to cover a maternity leave.
The Role
1. Teach English across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 (Key Stage 5 desirable but not essential).
2. Deliver engaging, challenging and inspiring lessons that support strong progress in reading, writing and critical analysis.
3. Plan, assess and feedback in line with department and whole-school policies.
4. Work collaboratively within an established English team known for high standards and strong results.
5. Support the wider school with occasional general cover duties across other subject areas.
We’re looking for someone who:
6. Holds QTS and has proven experience teaching English.
7. Has high expectations and the ability to engage, stretch and support learners of all abilities.
8. Models excellent subject knowledge and a passion for English.
9. Is adaptable, reliable and comfortable providing occasional general cover.
