Job Description
New Directions Education, are recruiting for a pool of Higher Level Teaching Assistants, to work within local SEN settings who are seeking Higher Level Teaching Assistants (HLTA’s) for daily/long term cover.
This role is a fantastic opportunity for people who are dedicated in supporting learners to thrive within the classroom and outdoor learning facilities.
We want to hear from:
1. Knowledge of trauma-informed approached and therapeutic behaviour support.
2. Trained in Team-Teach or other behaviour intervention methods.
3. Higher Level Teaching Assistant statis pr equivalent qualification/experience.
4. Strong communication skills.
Job Specification
Working as a Higher Level Teaching Assistant, can be a very rewarding but also a very demanding role. This role involves working closely with teaching staff, SENCO’s and external agencies to deliver high-quality education for pupils with a range of needs, including Medical Needs, ASD, ADHD, speech and language difficulties.
Ideally, candidates will be required to:
5. Support the planning, delivery, and assessment of learning activities for pupils with SEN, adapting materials and strategies as needed.
6. Working alongside class teachers to deliver differentiated learning and ensure all pupils can access the curriculum.
7. Deliver small group interventions under the direction of SENCOs and phase leaders.
8. Support the development of EHCP outcomes and contribute to reviews and meetings.
9. Supervise whole classes occasionally during the short-term absence of the class teacher.
10. Provide guidance and support to other teaching assistants across the setting.
11. Maintain accurate records and contribute to reporting and assessment processes
