Overview

As an SEO Executive, you are the delivery role of your POD. Your role is to support the Senior Account Directors and Account Directors by executing the technical, strategic, and PR tasks required to drive client performance. You will work across two key disciplines: SEO Strategy (audits, research, and on‑site implementation) and Digital PR (media list building, outreach, and coverage tracking). Although the role may include elements of Content and Tech, these responsibilities are minimal and intended to expand your knowledge.


Responsibilities

* SEO Strategy and Execution:
o Auditing & Analysis: Conduct detailed technical, content, backlink, and other audits as briefed. Compile raw data and initial findings for the Account Director.
o Keyword Research: Perform in‑depth keyword research and competitor gap analysis to uncover new opportunities.
o Implementation: Own on‑site changes, including CMS uploads (WordPress, Shopify, Magento), meta data optimisation, broken‑link fixes, and internal linking strategies.
o Quality Control: Conduct meaningful checks on all deliverables to meet the agency’s high standards before passing to the Account Director.
* Digital PR Delivery:
o Outreach: Execute PR campaigns by contacting journalists, bloggers, and editors, sending emails and pitching stories.
o Media Relations: Build and maintain targeted media lists, monitor proactive opportunities, and flag relevant queries to the POD.
o Asset Creation: Support creation of press releases and campaign assets, ensuring correct formatting and readiness for distribution.
o Coverage Tracking: Monitor and record all secured coverage, verifying live links and accurate metrics in our system.
* Reporting and Data:
o Performance Reporting: Compile data reports for the POD using GA4, Search Console, and rank‑tracking tools for client meetings or strategic planning.
o Ad‑Hoc Analysis: Respond to quick‑turnaround data requests from the POD to support strategy pivots or answer specific client queries.


Training and Progression

* Holistic Learning: Actively participate in training sessions across all pillars (Strategy, Content, Tech, and PR) to understand the complete SEO mix.
* Career Development: Work with your Line Manager to build a Personal Development Plan focused on soft skills and strategic thinking required to become an Account Director.


Requirements

Essential

* Experience in an SEO or Digital Marketing role, ideally within an agency environment.
* Digital Marketing Competence: Understanding of SEO fundamentals, familiarity with tools, and principles of SEO.
* PR Fundamentals: Experience with building media lists, writing pitch emails, and identifying newsworthy stories.

Desirable

* Tool Proficiency: Competent user of core industry tools such as Ahrefs, Semrush, Google Analytics (GA4), Google Search Console, and Screaming Frog; basic knowledge of HTML/CSS.
* CMS Skills: Experience using standard Content Management Systems (WordPress, Shopify, etc.) to upload content and make basic changes.
* Technical SEO: Understanding of the impact of technical SEO on website performance and potential negative effects.
