About the Project
Sizewell C (SZC) is central to the UK’s clean energy revolution. This groundbreaking nuclear power plant project in Suffolk will be vital for a sustainable future. Supported by EDF and the UK Government, Sizewell C offers significant opportunities for innovation, growth, and excellence.
The Role
The Utilities Project Manager will report directly to the Utilities Senior Manager and will be responsible for managing activities related to the full lifecycle delivery of a Utilities contract or work package, ensuring adherence to the programme schedule and budget.
This role involves ensuring planning and delivery meet all safety, quality, time, and cost parameters, contributing to the success of the project through innovative engineering and construction. The role includes developing the implementation plan for delivering utilities scope within the agreed constraints, covering new connections, diversionary measures, and maintenance of utilities across SZC sites.
Key Responsibilities
* Leading and managing all utilities project activities within timelines and budgets.
* Defining work scope and ensuring delivery within scope, using necessary measures under the New Roads and Streetworks Act or other agreements.
* Collaborating with cross-functional teams to achieve project objectives.
* Implementing best practices in project management to optimize efficiency and quality.
* Overseeing contractor activities, ensuring safety and regulatory compliance.
* Managing stakeholders and building relationships with delivery partners, site teams, and operations.
* Supporting the Utilities Manager in delivering the utility strategy and improving safety and delivery.
* Demonstrating industry knowledge and experience in utility services.
Qualifications and Experience
* Experience in utility services and project management operations.
* Knowledge of service avoidance and safe digging practices (HSG 47).
* Understanding of BWIC and CDM Regulations.
* Proven track record in similar environments.
* Excellent communication, decision-making, and stakeholder engagement skills.
* Willingness to learn from experiences.
* Ability to work in fast-paced, changing environments.
* Ability to complete security clearances and CTC checks.
Preferred Certifications
* New Roads & Streetworks Act Qualification/Certification
* Recognised Utilities Safety Card (EUSR etc)
* Recognised Water Hygiene Certification
* SMSTS Certification
* Experience with CAD or Microsoft Project
