Overview
Quality Engineer – Glasgow region. Full-Time, Permanent. This role supports an innovative manufacturing site contributing to high-integrity projects in the defence and commercial sectors. You will be part of a dedicated team ensuring every process, product, and partnership meets technical, regulatory, and customer standards, blending operational insight with technical oversight to impact real-world performance and safety.
Key Responsibilities
* Collaborate with engineering, production, procurement, and project delivery teams to embed quality at every stage.
* Support the development of quality strategies, inspection and test protocols, and assurance plans tailored to specific projects.
* Conduct audits internally and across the supply chain to maintain ISO 9001 and client requirements compliance.
* Investigate and resolve quality issues using structured root cause analysis and corrective action methods.
* Oversee and verify quality documentation, including inspection reports, certifications, and improvement actions.
* Attend product inspections and test events on-site and, when required, at vendor or customer locations.
* Capture lessons learned with stakeholders and drive performance improvements.
What You Bring
* A solid foundation in quality and engineering, supported by a technical qualification, apprenticeship, or equivalent hands-on experience.
* Strong knowledge of quality systems, particularly ISO 9001, with experience leading or supporting formal audits.
* Ability to interpret engineering drawings (mechanical and/or electrical).
* Proficiency with MS Office tools; ideally experience with ERP/MRP or quality management software.
* Awareness of documentation and certification practices in regulated environments.
* Methodical approach, clear communication, and ability to manage tasks independently and on time.
