We are seeking an experienced and proactive Workshop Manager to oversee daily operations; more specifically on the fabrication side.
The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising technical activities, such as welding, press brake ops, laser ops, fettling, ensuring safety standards, and maintaining high-quality workmanship.
Experience working within these areas of fabrication is a must.
This role requires strong organisational skills, technical expertise, and excellent leadership abilities to coordinate a team of technicians and ensure efficient workflow.
Responsibilities:
* Supervise and coordinate workshop activities to ensure timely completion of projects and maintenance tasks
* Interpret engineer drawings to guide the team if needed
* Lead troubleshooting efforts for mechanical issues, ensuring minimal downtime
* Manage stock levels of tools, parts, and materials required for various tasks
* Enforce health and safety regulations within the workshop environment
* Train and mentor workshop staff to develop their skills in equipment operation, maintenance, and safety procedures
Requirements:
* Proven experience in workshop or technical management roles with strong leadership skills
* Mechanical knowledge with the ability to read engineer drawings accurately
* Experience using hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and other workshop machinery such as press brakes and CNC lasers.
* Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise multiple projects effectively
* Relevant qualifications or certifications in mechanical engineering or related fields are desirable but not essential

Monday to Thursday
2pm - 12am
3 Day weekends!
