What's the role? The Civil Engineering Project Engineer supports the delivery of civil engineering projects across Scotland by providing technical expertise, coordinating site engineering activities, and ensuring works are carried out safely, accurately, and in accordance with drawings, specifications, and contractual requirements. Providing support to the Operational, Commercial and Estimating Teams as required. Working Conditions - Hybrid role spent between site and Aviemore main office dependant on workload. Monday - Friday. 40 contractual hours per week. Travel across Scotland may be required. Key Responsibilities: Engineering & Technical Support Provide day-to-day engineering support to site and project teams Interpret and implement drawings, specifications, and construction information Set out works using GPS / total station and verify accuracy Manage technical queries (RFIs) and liaise with designers and consultants Site Coordination Support the Project Manager and Construction Manager in planning and sequencing works Coordinate subcontractors and ensure engineering requirements are met on site Monitor progress against programme and report engineering issues Quality & Assurance Ensure works comply with design, specifications, and quality standards Carry out inspections, testing, and quality checks Maintain accurate site records, as-built drawings, and quality documentation Health, Safety & Environmental Ensure compliance with CDM Regulations 2015, Health & Safety at Work Act, and company HSEQ procedures Develop risk assessments, method statements (RAMS), and toolbox talks Promote safe working practices and environmental awareness on site Commercial & Project Support Assist with measurement, quantities, and progress reporting Support cost control and variation identification Help manage materials, plant, and site logistics What we're looking for : Essential Experience working as a Project Engineer, Technician or Site Engineer on civil engineering projects Good knowledge of civil engineering construction techniques Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications Strong communication, organisation, and problem-solving skills Qualification in Civil Engineering HNC, HND, Degree Full UK driving licence Desirable Experience on Scottish infrastructure or public-sector projects Experience with setting-out equipment and site surveying SMSTS, First Aid at Work, Temporary Works Co-ordinator Knowledge of NEC contracts Temporary Works Supervisor / Coordinator Familiarity with AutoCAD or similar software What' s in it for you?
