Your Role
You will provide strategic leadership to create, shape, and deliver the business strategy for the Asset Consultancy service line within the Water Business Unit, ensuring WSP’s market position is safeguarded and strengthened for future growth. As a key member of the Leadership Team, reporting to the Managing Director, you will drive strategic growth and P&L performance of the service line. You will lead with confidence and autonomy, owning a forward-looking business strategy that delivers sustainable growth and reinforces our position as a top-tier market leader. You will thrive in collaboration and engagement, fostering an inclusive environment where health, safety, and wellbeing are prioritized so our people can perform at their best.
Responsibilities
* Develop and implement a strategy that delivers business growth in line with targets and aligns the business with market opportunities in the water sector.
* Lead and manage a team with a strong focus on people engagement and belonging.
* Champion Health, Safety, Wellbeing and Inclusion with a commitment to a Zero Harm culture.
* Own a Service Line P&L and deliver against key targets.
* Lead framework and project delivery—time, cost, and quality.
* Coordinate with other service lines and disciplines to share best practice, innovation, and delivery skills.
* Develop the right competencies through training and development plans.
* Develop and maintain relationships with key clients and act on feedback to differentiate WSP’s services.
* Support strategic bids at the business unit level and lead tactical bids.

* Join a Water Business Unit delivering innovative solutions to clients such as Severn Trent Water, Southern Water, Northern Ireland Water, Irish Water, South West Water, Thames Water and government bodies.
* Contribute to delivering WSP UK's 2025–2027 Strategy, with water as a key growth area.

What we would like you to demonstrate
* Demonstrated leadership experience in the Water sector within a professional services environment with a track record of delivering strategic outcomes.
* Ability to build and sustain senior client relationships and drive repeat business and high client satisfaction.
* Excellent commercial acumen, including full P&L ownership and understanding of financial levers such as net revenue, operating margin, EBITDA, and working capital.
* Recognised as a leader with experience leading international teams and delivering high-quality professional services at a national scale.
* A growth mindset with the ability to identify and pursue opportunities beyond core technical work.
* Skilled in cross-selling and collaboration to connect clients with wider WSP offerings.
* A commitment to inclusion, safety, and wellbeing, promoting a Zero Harm culture that supports people and performance.
