Web Designer rising to Design Manager – Digital Marketing Agency. Based in Dorking, UK. This is a full-time, permanent role with structured training and a clear progression path into Design Manager.

* Position: Web Design / Design Manager in Waiting
* Location: Dorking HQ
* Starting salary: £28,000 rising upon graduation to Team Manager
* Hours: 8.45am – 5.00pm
* Benefits: 20 days annual leave plus bank holidays; other benefits listed as company trips and development days

* Experience managing a design team

* Experience using Webflow, Adobe Creative Suite, Figma, Sketch, and basic coding

The Design Manager Opportunity
Lead and manage the design team, track KPIs, oversee day-to-day operations, and act as the main contact for design matters. The role includes a structured training pathway and progression to senior leadership roles such as Head of Design.
Training & Progression Pathway
* Months 1–3: Hands-on training building client websites with Webflow, updating live sites, and learning processes and design standards
* Months 3–6: Support workload allocation, KPI tracking, and shadowing management responsibilities
* Month 6 onwards: Transition into full team management, daily operations, KPIs, project delivery, and staff development
This pathway ensures you are prepared before stepping into leadership responsibilities. Clear progression toward senior leadership roles is provided.
What Your Day Might Look Like
* Hands-on design responsibilities during training: build client websites with Webflow, update live sites, learn client processes and project workflows
* Core management responsibilities once trained: daily management of design team operations, KPI tracking and reporting, project oversight, primary contact for design queries
* Daily management of design team: allocate workloads, update trackers, attend meetings, oversee design QCs, conduct monthly 1:1s, complete a management course within 6 months
* Management of KPIs: track, monitor, and report KPIs; ensure targets are met; oversee delivery within SLA
* Project management: track designer workloads, ensure timely completion
* Main point of contact for design: escalate issues, liaise with senior management and other departments, log and resolve escalations in writing
About You
* Proven experience managing, mentoring, and coaching a team
* Experience using Webflow is essential
* Ability to inspire creativity while maintaining consistency
* Strong leadership and people management skills
* Ability to track, monitor, and report on KPIs
* Strong communication and organizational skills and cross-department collaboration
* Detail-oriented with focus on high-quality design outputs
* Proactive, ambitious, and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment
