The Health Records Clerk will be responsible for providing an essential support service in the continuing care of patients, ensuring that the casenotes are at the right place at the right time.
To actively promote the vision for the Health Records service working towards a Digital Records future and support the delivery of modernisation plans for Health Records, the post holder will support the delivery of the Health Records Operational Plan by working with the Health Records Co‑ordinator/Assistant Site Manager.
The duties are predominantly centred around the physical retrieval, filing and preparation of case notes in conjunction with an efficient and professional outpatient reception service. The successful candidate will assist in the provision of case notes for patient care both outpatient and acute, ensuring that all case notes are delivered and prepared to Service Level agreements.
The post holder will be expected to undertake weeding of existing case notes in line with the organisation's Retention and Destruction Policy, ensuring that the patient tracking system is accurate and up to date. This is a very busy department that works to tight deadlines, so the ability to work to tight deadlines, to work under one’s own initiative and to prioritise one’s workload with a high level of accuracy is essential.
