The role
As a Senior Systems Engineer, you’ll play a pivotal role in shaping engineering excellence across our Naval Nuclear programmes. This is your opportunity to lead significant engineering projects that directly support the Royal Navy’s operational capability, work that is innovative, meaningful and nationally important.
Day-to-day, you’ll be part of our Whole Boat & Platform Systems Engineering team, helping to drive engineering performance, improve processes, and influence how complex engineering systems are delivered.
1. Lead transversal engineering projects and deliver technical solutions to complex engineering problems.
2. Implement engineering processes, governance and capability plans that improve how we operate.
3. Undertake engineering investigations, producing clear reports and recommendations.
4. Carry out project management activities including planning, delivery and cost control.
5. Liaise with customers and stakeholders to present solutions, progress and outcomes.
This role is full time, 35 hours per week and provides hybrid working arrangements.
Essential experience of the Senior Systems Engineer
6. Understanding and delivery of system technical requirements.
7. Experience driving innovation and improving engineering effectiveness and efficiency.
8. Proven experience managing projects in fast‑moving environments, delivering on time, on budget and to quality standards.
9. Familiarity with commercial and subcontract processes.
10. Proficiency in project management tools.
Qualifications for the Senior Systems Engineer
11. Degree or Level 5 qualification in a relevant STEM discipline OR substantial relevant experience can be considered.
12. Chartered or Incorporated Engineer status or actively working towards.

The successful candidate must be a sole UK National who is able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
