Job Title: Manufacturing Process Engineer
Wales
Contract (£DOE)
Overview:This role is responsible for developing and implementing manufacturing processes from concept through to commissioning and qualification. The successful candidate will demonstrate experience in process development and system integration across complex manufacturing environments.
Key Responsibilities:
* Develop robust, cost-effective manufacturing processes in line with engineering plans, budgets, and customer requirements.
* Ensure compliance with industry-standard controls and best practices, including Lean principles, Process Control Plans, PFMEAs, and basic automation systems such as PLCs and visual management.
* Specify, source, and qualify new equipment in collaboration with suppliers, ensuring all installations meet safety and regulatory standards.
* Coordinate development activities to generate supporting data that underpins material and process understanding.
* Manage and maintain a comprehensive project data file, including trial results, process specifications, certifications, and safety data using appropriate life cycle management tools.
* Provide engineering input into risk management and tendering processes.
* Support process reviews, capability studies, and implementation of Safe Systems of Work.
* Communicate technical updates, risks, and progress to stakeholders via written reports and presentations.
Knowledge & Skills:
* Solid technical foundation in manufacturing and materials processing.
* Ability to prioritise a dynamic workload while maintaining quality and meeting deadlines.
* Familiarity with statistical techniques for process control and improvement (e.g., Six Sigma).
* Experience with development and maintenance of stable, capable production processes.
* Strong problem-solving and project coordination skills.
Qualifications:
* Minimum: HNC / HND in Mechanical, Electrical, Manufacturing, Chemical Engineering or equivalent (Expected).
* Desirable: IOSH Managing Safety / NEBOSH Certificate.
