Overview
It’s a fantastic time to work for the Environment Agency as we step forward to tackle the climate emergency. As a member of the FCRM Improvements Portfolio team you will support the Portfolio Management office and sub‑portfolio’s project and programme work, delivering over £150 million of improvements in the next three years.
Responsibilities
* Start up and inform new projects, support live projects and assist project managers.
* Build relationships with the Portfolio Management Office and embed portfolio management and data practices.
* Provide incident coverage (usually virtual) and be available to respond to incidents or support business continuity during an incident.
* Support portfolio governance cycles by arranging meetings, preparing agendas and minutes.
* Analyse and manipulate large datasets, develop dashboards in Power BI or Tableau, and support data-driven decision making.
* Manage financial data and project planning as required.
Qualifications
* Formal project/programme management experience is essential.
* Highly numerate with strong data gathering, manipulation and interpretation skills; Microsoft Excel required, Power BI/Tableau or similar experience desirable.
* Experience in a project support role within a complex organisation using Agile and waterfall methodologies.
* Administrative and organisational skills for supporting portfolio governance.
* Financial data management and project planning skills desirable.
* Ability to gain credibility, respect and co‑operation throughout the business.
* Experience tackling and automating routine issues with a continuous improvement mindset.
* Ability to work with uncertainty and find innovative solutions to problems.
