Position Summary
A player‑coach responsible for sales growth throughout EMEA (Europe, the Middle East, and Africa) and the leadership of the small sales team based in Lancashire, UK. The focus is on growth and development of the team within the company’s vision and values. This exciting and challenging role is an integral part of the management team. Reporting to our Chief Sales and Marketing Officer (CSMO), it is a key leadership position with responsibility for sales growth strategies in the EMEA territory. This position is a hands‑on role that requires an estimated 50% of the time to be spent traveling. Travel is local and international, prioritised by opportunity.

Key Duties & Responsibilities
* Dynamically lead EMEA sales efforts of the UK‑based Business Development Team (BDM).
* Evaluate EMEA countries and develop the best sales channel strategy with CSMO.
* Monitor and report on KPIs set to drive business growth.
* Provide feedback to the sales team on performance against KPIs and development progress.
* Coach and motivate the sales team, focusing on positive habits that ensure sales team success and development.
* Keep the sales team motivated and accountable to maintain an acceptable level of outbound sales activity.
* Inform the CSMO by reviewing and analysing reports; summarising information; identifying trends.
* Recruit, select, orient, and train sales staff to maintain and grow the team.
* Work cooperatively with Marketing, Sales Support, Engineering, and Operations.
* Use the company CRM to log all relevant activity, contacts, and potential new business opportunities. Manage BDM assignments of contacts and ensure proper CRM use.
* Identify new products and market opportunities by speaking with clients and analysing competitors.
* Interface with product line management, engineers, and management team to expand product offerings.
* Prioritise and attend regional trade shows, working closely with Marketing on planning and follow‑up.
* Follow company expense and travel guidelines.
Person Specification
* Experience and background in the electric power utility market is a plus; industrial or industrial technology sales is a must.
* A strong sense of urgency coupled with a keen interest in playing an important role in a quickly growing organisation is required.
* Extensive experience in sales management and business development mainly dealing with distributors/wholesalers/OEM/large end users with proven sales results.
* Tenacity and drive to seek new business and exceed targets.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Good IT skills, including use of spreadsheets and presentations.
* Professional manner and presentable appearance for meeting customers/clients.
* Demonstrate initiative and good decision‑making skills.
* Ability to establish goals and motivate yourself and others.
* Great organisational and networking skills.
* Ability to transition between tasks effectively.

* Comfortable with frequent national and international travel required (50%).
