Nursery Staff Opportunities – Assistants, Practitioners & Room Leaders
Location: Standish, Atherton, Tyldesley, Hindley
Pay: £12.50 – £15.50 per hour (dependent on role, experience, and qualifications)
Hours: Flexible and full-time roles available (shifts between 8:00am – 6:00pm)

Teaching Personnel are the preffered supplier for a large group of Nurseries in Wigan who are expanding their teams for September 2025.
We currently have a range of positions, including:
* Nursery Assistants (unqualified or Level 1+)
* Qualified Nursery Practitioners (Level 2 or Level 3)
* Room Leaders (Level 3+ with team-leading experience)
This warm and inclusive setting caters for children aged 0–5 and provides a rich, play-based learning environment with strong outdoor provision. The nursery is committed to high standards of care, education, and safeguarding – and seeks dedicated individuals to join them on a flexible or full-time basis.
Roles and Responsibilities (depending on role):
* Supporting and supervising children’s daily routines and learning through play
* Planning and delivering age-appropriate activities in line with the EYFS framework
* Acting as a key worker and maintaining up-to-date observations and assessments
* Ensuring safeguarding and health & safety procedures are consistently followed
* Collaborating with a team of practitioners and supporting room leadership (for senior roles)
Requirements:
* A genuine passion for working with children in the Early Years
* A caring, reliable, and proactive approach
* Level 2 or Level 3 qualification in Early Years/Childcare (preferred for practitioner/room leader roles)
* Knowledge of the EYFS and safeguarding procedures
* Good communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team
* Room Leader applicants must have prior team-leading or supervisory experience
Contract Details:
* Start date: September 2025
* Flexible supply, part-time and full-time permanent positions available
* Opportunities to progress within the nursery for the right candidates
The hours of the nursery are 8:00 – 18:00 with 30 minutes for dinner however on a flexible basis there are morning shifts (08:00 – 12/13:00) and afternoon shifts (13:00 – 18:00)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
