Description
The Environmental Health Officer/Technical Officer (Gr F/G/H/I)* role is critical in ensuring public health and safety within our communities by addressing environmental health issues and promoting sustainable practices. As a vital member of our team, you will assess and manage environmental health risks, conduct inspections, and offer guidance on compliance with health regulations. This position requires strong analytical skills and the ability to communicate effectively with local governments, businesses and the public. You will develop policies, programs, and educational initiatives aimed at improving environmental health outcomes and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to address complex environmental challenges and promote community awareness of health hazards.
Responsibilities
* Conduct inspections of facilities and sites to ensure compliance with environmental health regulations.
* Investigate reports of environmental health complaints and assess potential risks to public health.
* Develop, implement and evaluate policies and programmes aimed at improving community health and safety.
* Provide expert guidance and support to local governments and stakeholders regarding environmental health topics.
* Educate the public on environmental health issues through workshops, webinars and community outreach programmes.
* Conduct research and prepare reports on environmental health trends and emerging issues.
* Collaborate with other health professionals to design initiatives that promote a healthy environment and reduce health hazards.
Requirements
* Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health, Public Health or a related field.
* At least 3 years of relevant experience in environmental health or a related discipline.
* Knowledge of environmental health regulations, policies and best practices.
* Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with the ability to assess complex situations.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills for effective stakeholder engagement.
* Proficiency with data analysis tools and software for health risk assessment.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team, demonstrating initiative and adaptability.

End Time: 17:00
Pay Per Hour: £31.91
Location: Kingston Upon Thames, South West London
