Overview of Role

Location: Stockport
Reporting to: Quality Systems Manager
Salary: £33,000.00 pa
Hours: Monday to Friday, 42 hours/week (some flexibility required)

Our responsibilities include:

* Implementing, monitoring, and challenging standards of food safety to support site teams in producing safe, wholesome products.
* Ensuring legal compliance and maintaining due diligence records to protect our business and brand reputation.
* Supporting site teams in maintaining approved supplier status by adhering to customer standards, ensuring products are made to specification in a food-safe environment, while minimizing costs without compromising quality or safety.


Key Accountabilities

1. Maintaining traceability, food safety, and quality records.
2. Capturing data and trending KPIs, including quality results.
3. Monitoring quality through offline QAS assessments and trending data, communicating trends to operatives.
4. Conducting food safety and quality systems audits.
5. Organizing daily QAS panels and processing associated product performance data.
6. Verifying measuring instruments such as metal detectors, check weighers, and temperature probes.
7. Completing shelf life evaluations.
8. Preparing and verifying production paperwork.
9. Carrying out glass/perspex audits across the site.
10. Sampling and assessing agar plates and dip slides.
11. Compiling and distributing food safety and quality compliance statistics.
12. Verifying colleague personal hygiene standards via hand swabs.
13. Sampling and packaging products according to central requirements.
14. Verifying product packaging against library standards (Dragonfly).


Minimum Requirements

* At least 12 months' experience in a food manufacturing environment.
* Strong IT skills (Microsoft Suite).
* Confident communicator across all levels.
* Level 1 Food Hygiene qualification.
* A methodical, detail-driven approach.
* A team player with energy, enthusiasm, and a passion for quality.
