Supplier Relationship Manager – Property
Are you looking for an opportunity that is varied, challenging and offers the opportunity to enhance and improve the supplier performance and accounts process within our wider Property team? We have an exciting permanent opportunity to work in a varied role and provide high level support to the Building Services function under the title of Supplier Accounts Controller.
This is not a traditional accounts payable or credit control role. The position focuses on supplier performance, commercial management, and driving value from our supply chain, alongside invoice review responsibilities. As the primary liaison you will take the lead for the on-going performance and invoice management for a number of maintenance suppliers, across a number of contracts worth circa £75m. You will support contractor performance through regular supplier meetings, monitoring KPIs, and addressing performance issues to drive continuous improvement, while also managing the review of selected invoices for your allocated suppliers.
You will maintain excellent working relationships with Heads of Maintenance, Area Building Managers and the maintenance supply chain. In this role you will report into Supplier Account Manager at the Retail Support Centre in Central Birmingham.

Core Responsibilities
Regulatory
* Ensure the companies liquor and associated licenses are not endangered at any time.
* Ensure health, safety considerations are paramount in all decisions and activities.
Legal
* Read and understand relevant sections of contracts for allocated suppliers. Ensure that the financial terms of the contracts are being adhered to.
* Ensure that contractual KPIs are adhered to.
* Ensure that contractual rates are reflected in the CAFM.
* Feedback on areas which don’t perform as well as they should for future improvements.
Cost Management
* Review and approve invoices for allocated suppliers in line with contract terms and performance.
* Highlight any that do not meet the criteria and return these to the supplier.
* Agree prices for regularly occurring materials.
* Identify opportunities for efficiency, savings, and improved supplier delivery.
Supplier Performance Management
* Compare KPI performance with similar contractors from the peer group, ensuring service delivery and cost control
* Lead performance management through regular meetings
* Agree targets to drive continuous improvement.
* Build and maintain excellent working relationships with suppliers and drive accountability.
Audit
* Where irregularities or areas of risk are found, report back and recommend future actions.
Training
As required provide training to the allocated suppliers.
Required Skills and Experience
* High level of attention to detail, with the ability to manage a varied portfolio of suppliers
* Excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills
* High degree of self-motivation
* Understanding of maintenance or building processes preferred
* Experience managing suppliers, contractors, or service providers is essential
* Strong commercial or operational background (not purely transactional finance)
