Job Title: Shipping and Stores Assistant
Reports To: Service & Aftermarket Manager EMEA
SUMMARY
This position provides shipping services by utilising the Global Shop systems to determine equipment, quantity, shipping date and customer to receive shipment. Also provides clerical support to the Stores Supervisor and Service & Aftermarket Manager. The functions of this position will be performed under moderate supervision in a timely manner and with acceptable quality.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Efficiently fill aftermarket orders of food processing equipment/parts by running a pick list, packaging and shipping in a manner to meet customer expectations.
* Examining incoming and outgoing shipment contents and comparing with records, (such as manifests, invoices or orders) to verify accuracy.
* Preparing documents, such as work orders, bills of lading and shipping orders to route materials.
* Determining shipping methods for materials using knowledge of shipping procedures, routes and rates.
* Utilise Global Shop accurately to track shipment data, such as weight, charges, space availability and damages and discrepancies for purposes of reporting, accounting and record keeping.
* Conferring and corresponding with shipping vendors to make arrangements and to issue instructions for the shipping and delivery of materials. Also to rectify problems, such as damages, shortages and nonconformance to specifications.
* Accurately & efficiently pulling orders off of a picking list from various areas of the supply room and shop.
* Staging and palletising product in the shop.
* Provide office clerical support to the Service & Aftermarket Manager.
* Effective communication in department and between departments (UK office, US Corporate, finance, engineering, purchasing, IT, HR etc) to ensure quality, design improvements and meeting shipment delivery dates.
* Properly utilise inspection equipment to complete job within ISO procedures.
* Safely and efficiently utilize shop equipment to crate, ship and receive equipment.
* Attends work as required on time for the shift scheduled.
* Maintain a clean and orderly work area.
* Assists other departments as required and other duties as assigned
Knowledge, Skills and Ability Requirements:
* Working knowledge of shipping procedures and processes
* Strong communication skills both verbal and written.
* Complete working knowledge of PPM Tech/Wright products, processes and procedures
* Knowledge of food processing or related product lines and general knowledge of a custom machinery environment and food handling systems
* Knowledge of relevant equipment, policies, procedures, and strategies to promote effective safety operations. Must by highly safety conscious.
* Working knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite programs
* Must show good initiative, organisation and follow-through.
* Ability to be resourceful in looking for solutions to overcome any issue
* Operating knowledge of Global Shop system
* Must work well within a team and at the same time be able to make independent decisions.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Minimum one year shipping and office experience or equivalent training and experience is required.

LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before customers or employees of organisation.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardisation exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Working Week
Monday to Friday 08:00-16:30, with one working day being 08:00-13:00 (TBD)
