Overview

Vulcain Engineering UK’s 18-month Development Programme offers an exciting opportunity to join the team as a Production Controller at Hinkley Point C, working on-site five days a week. From day one, consultants are embedded within the Delivery Integration Team, where you will analyse progress reports, review work schedules, identify discrepancies, and support corrective actions to keep the project on track. The programme combines hands-on experience with structured training and mentorship to develop key technical and professional skills. You will also work towards industry-relevant qualifications and gain exposure to one of the UK’s largest infrastructure projects. Upon completion, the programme provides a clear pathway to future roles within Vulcain, including Project Management, Construction Management, Project Controls, Planning and more.

This position will require attendance, at HPC site, Monday-Friday.


Responsibilities

* Working closely with contract and client planning engineers.
* Identifying trends and deviations from the original plan and recommending appropriate corrective actions.
* Managing the reference levels against which a project is monitored and controlled.
* Building and maintaining close working relationships with other disciplines within the organisation, particularly the area delivery and construction teams.
* Supporting and coordinating critical path resources to meet agreed targets.
* Utilising Project software tools - P6 outputs, Excel databases/spreadsheets, Power BI, SharePoint, CEMAR, & Mpower.
* Prepare and support weekly/monthly review and evaluation reports/schedules and flow forecasts for submission to the Delivery Integration team & MEH Alliance.
* Attend and influence meetings.
* Identify, apply and evaluate cost control techniques to support the monitoring, managing and reporting of the project.


Preferred Profile / Qualifications

* Financial & commercial awareness, alongside practical working experience in a position where you have gained exposure to project management / support, finance, data, technical, construction, or another relevant area.
* Experience in technical or construction environments, military, highly regulated, multi-disciplinary, site-based disciplines, or similar.
* Exceptional attention to detail in data analysis to ensure accuracy and reliability.
* Strong active listening and communication skills to clearly understand tasks and effectively relay information to management.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools. Familiarity with Primavera P6 or other project management tools is an advantage.
* Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels.
* Ability to collaborate across multi-disciplinary project teams.
* A proactive, questioning attitude – ability to challenge the status quo and think innovatively with a mindset of continuous improvement.
* Residency in Bridgwater or willingness to relocate; note this permanent role does not include travel expense coverage.


Site and Security

Please note many of our UK projects require high-level security clearance, meaning we can only consider candidates with an existing, indefinite right to work in the UK.
