About the Opportunity:
Jacobs Nuclear is the design and engineering partner for Sellafield under a 20-year PPP (Programme and Project Partners) arrangement, delivering approximately £7bn of major projects. We seek high-value expertise from regulated and comparable sectors to work collaboratively. The PPP delivers major projects, site-wide improvements, and support services.

Due to increased demand, we are looking for a Lead Civil Engineer to join our team in Birchwood Park, Warrington.
Your initial responsibilities will include:
1. Leading teams in consultancy guidance, feasibility, outline, and detailed design, referencing standards such as 'Manuals For Streets', 'Sewers For Adoption', 'Design Manuals For Roads And Bridges', 'Specification For Highways Works', and relevant Building Regulations.
2. Coordinating site investigations, geo-environmental assessments, inspections, and resolving issues.
3. Participating in 'Appraise and Select' and feasibility studies, progressing to preliminary and detailed design stages.
4. Producing high-quality designs, drawings, and reports from inception to completion, suitable for feasibility, costing, and construction, covering highways, drainage, utilities, and related areas.
5. Influencing development and infrastructure master planning, considering relevant statutory requirements.
6. Preparing calculations, technical reports, design documentation, and supervising interdisciplinary coordination.
7. Assisting in recruitment, staff management, and ensuring successful client outcomes.
8. Managing project financials and preparing fee proposals.
9. Assessing variations and fee impacts accurately and timely.
10. Monitoring team utilization and recovery targets.
Requirements:
1. A degree in Civil Engineering (BEng or MEng).
2. Chartership with the Institution of Civil Engineers and/or the Institution of Structural Engineers.
3. Experience in designing and detailing highways, drainage, street works, public works, SUDS, building drainage, and utilities coordination/diversion.
4. Knowledge of seismic design requirements for waste storage/processing facilities is beneficial.
5. Proficiency with BIM software.
