Job Title: Sales Engineer – Automation Industry

Department: Sales & Business Development
Location: Field-Based / External Sales (with occasional office visits)
Employment Type: Full-Time, Permanent (37.5 hours/week)
Reports To: Sales Manager / Regional Sales Director

About the Role

We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Sales Engineer to join our automation solutions team. This role is ideal for someone with a strong technical background and a passion for business development. You will play a key role in managing existing accounts, reigniting relationships with lapsed clients, and generating new business across your territory.

With 80% of your time spent in the field, this position focuses on face-to-face interaction with clients, offering automation solutions tailored to their operational challenges.

Key Responsibilities

* Manage and grow existing customer accounts through effective relationship-building and account planning.

* Reengage with lapsed or inactive clients to revive commercial relationships.

* Identify and win new business opportunities through proactive prospecting and solution selling.

* Deliver tailored presentations and proposals that align with customer automation requirements.

* Collaborate with internal teams (engineering, support, product) to deliver customer solutions effectively.

* Maintain up-to-date CRM records, sales forecasts, and activity reports.

* Achieve sales targets and contribute to overall regional and company growth.

Key Requirements

* Proven experience in technical sales, ideally within the automation, industrial controls, or manufacturing sectors.

* Strong understanding of automation systems (e.g., PLCs, sensors, motion control, robotics, SCADA).

* Demonstrated success in account management and new business development.

* Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.

* Ability to work independently, manage a territory, and travel frequently.

* Valid driver’s license.

Pay: £35,000.00-£45,000.00 per year
