Senior Business Development Manager – South – Energy experience essential, Milton Keynes
Our client, a leading utilities provider, is seeking a Senior Business Development Manager to join their team in Milton Keynes, UK. The role involves securing new connections (ICP/SLP/UIP) and network asset (IDNO/IGT) opportunities within a specific customer channel or territory. You will also be responsible for developing account and contact plans to build a diverse portfolio of active, ideal clients. To succeed, you should have at least 3 years’ experience in business development or a similar sales role, proven expertise in the I&C ICP/IDNO sector, and experience in the utilities industry.
Key responsibilities:
1. Create and execute account plans to build a diverse portfolio of active clients
2. Generate and manage a self-discovered opportunity pipeline
3. Meet sales targets, including secured sales and pipeline growth
4. Gather win/loss and market feedback to drive improvements
5. Ensure proposals are optimally priced, timely, and meet client expectations
Skills and experience required:
1. 3+ years’ experience in Business Development or Sales within an ICP or IDNO new connection role
2. Confident communicator with people across all levels and backgrounds
3. Deep understanding of sales processes and strategies in a competitive marketplace
4. Excellent listening and problem-solving skills
5. Highly organized with the ability to manage and prioritize a diverse workload
6. Familiarity with sales and marketing techniques
