A Senior Day Coach (Residential Support Worker) at SuperCare provides both direct care and shift leadership for young people with complex learning disabilities and associated conditions/syndromes such as: Smith-Magenis Syndrome, congenital hypopituitarism, global developmental delay, ASD, SEMH, sensory processing differences, and attachment disruption.
You'll balance hands-on care with leading a team, ensuring every child receives consistent, therapeutic support. The home is rated "Good" by Ofsted and is looking to continue its journey towards "Outstanding".
What You'll Do
No two days are the same in this home however there are some strong routines. We look for all adults in our homes to be able to support as below:
* Provide experience to junior coaches, ensuring routines are followed and staff feel supported.
* Write and review care plans, behaviour support strategies, and risk assessments.
* Support children with impulsivity, shutdowns, low mood, or suicidal ideation using calm, low-arousal responses.
* Coach colleagues in trauma-informed and attachment-aware approaches.
* Work in partnership with multi-agency teams to meet each child's holistic needs.
What We're Looking For
We're looking for adults with some previous experience supporting young people with complex needs, ideally in a care setting:
* 2+ years in SEN or residential care.
* Level 3 Diploma (or equivalent).
* Confident supporting children with complex medical conditions and rare syndromes.
* Reflective leader with the ability to remain steady under pressure.
Experienced candidates would also bring working knowledge of supporting developmental trauma, attachment difficulties, sensory processing difficulties, complex medical needs.
The young people in this home are incredibly energetic and active! Therefore you should be able to physically and mentally engage in a wide range of activities.
