We are seeking an experienced and values‑driven Service Manager, Safeguarding and Quality to provide strong operational leadership across a specialist portfolio that sits at the heart of how Enfield safeguards children. This pivotal role oversees the Independent Reviewing Officer service, the Local Authority Designated Officer (LADO) function, Enfield Children’s Safeguarding Partnership, Family Decision Making and Contextual Safeguarding, with a clear remit to ensure statutory responsibilities are met while championing high‑quality, relational practice.
Responsibilities
* Lead, support and challenge senior practitioners, embedding reflective supervision and robust quality assurance.
* Champion continuous improvement of outcomes for children through meaningful engagement with families and partners.
* Ensure statutory responsibilities for the Independent Reviewing Officer service, the LADO function, and all related safeguarding activities are met.
* Drive data‑informed oversight and effective audit activity to monitor and enhance service performance.
* Deputise for the Head of Service in their absence or leave.
* Promote relational, strengths‑based practice across the portfolio, applying the Family Safeguarding model and motivational interviewing techniques.
* Maintain effective multi‑agency child protection arrangements and allegations management.
* Collaborate with partners, provide constructive challenge, and manage complexity while keeping children’s lived experience at the centre.
Qualifications
* Qualified and registered social worker.
* Substantial leadership experience within children’s safeguarding services.
* Deep expertise in quality assurance, allegations management, independent reviewing and multi‑agency child protection arrangements.
* Proven track record of leading senior staff, supporting professional judgement and driving improvement through reflective supervision and audit activity.
* Strong understanding of the Family Safeguarding model and motivational interviewing to support change, participation and engagement.
* Skilled in collaborative partnership working, able to provide constructive challenge and comfortable holding complexity.
