Aberdare Community School is seeking to appoint a passionate, committed and reflective Restorative Inclusion Support Assistant to join our vibrant and values driven pastoral team.
This is an exciting opportunity for a dedicated practitioner to support learners through high quality pastoral care — helping them to regulate emotions, rebuild relationships and re engage successfully with learning. The role is central to our commitment to restorative practice, inclusion and ensuring that every learner feels valued, supported and able to succeed.

The Role
You will:
•Provide pastoral, behavioural and emotional support for learners
•Deliver restorative and trauma informed interventions to support wellbeing and behaviour
•Work closely with Progress Leaders, staff, parents and external agencies
•Support vulnerable, disengaged and at risk pupils to re engage with learning
•Facilitate restorative conversations to resolve conflict and rebuild relationships
•Contribute to the effective running of restorative inclusion provision, including Noddfa
•Monitor attendance, behaviour and wellbeing, supporting appropriate interventions
•Maintain accurate records and contribute to pastoral systems across the school
About You
You will be:
•Passionate about supporting young people, particularly those who are vulnerable or at risk
•Committed to inclusion, restorative practice and relationship focused approaches
•Skilled in building positive, professional relationships with learners, families and staff
•Calm, resilient and able to work effectively in challenging situations
•Organised, reflective and able to work both independently and as part of a team
•Committed to ongoing professional development
•Experience of working with young people in a secondary school context is essential.
•Experience of restorative practice, trauma informed approaches or targeted interventions such as ELSA would be advantageous.
