Purpose of the Role
To develop project or integration programme plans / schedules on behalf of programme and project managers to meet client / business requirements in a cost-effective and reliable manner.
Person Specification
Essential
* Relevant experience in the successful scheduling of engineering projects.
* Knowledge of railway investment planning systems.
* Experience of using a number of project management scheduling tools & techniques including Earned Value Principles.
Desirable
* Membership of a relevant professional body
* Understanding of the engineering requirements of work on the railway
* Six Sigma Yellow Belt.
Key Responsibilities
* Interact and become a key member of the project delivery team, providing a quality service to support effective project delivery.
* Support effective information sharing and collection with all project stakeholders in an appropriate manner.
* Prepare a project work breakdown structure and plan/schedule capable of delivering objectives with effective performance measurement and reporting in accordance with the Project Life Cycle Process.
* Develop the appropriate quality plan / schedule in line with project scheduling principles and Network Rail procedure requirements.
* Monitor and progress the plan / schedule and implement changes as required; develop recovery schedules and contingency plans as necessary.
* React to Change Control requests and apply baseline management.
* Report actual performance and variance against plan and forecast outcomes, highlight key milestones and critical path issues, assess impact, and recommend solutions.
* Identify key resource requirements as needed and ensure availability is maintained.
