Job Description:
Teaching Personnel are working in partnership with a well-regarded secondary school in the Portsmouth area of Hampshire that is seeking to appoint a dedicated Teacher of Religious Studies to join their team from September 2025. This co-educational school, catering to students aged 11–16, is known for its inclusive ethos, strong community values, and commitment to academic and personal excellence. With a recent Ofsted rating of ‘Good’ across all areas, the school offers a supportive environment where both staff and students are encouraged to thrive.
The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering engaging and thought-provoking Religious Education lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, fostering a respectful and inclusive classroom environment where students are encouraged to explore a range of beliefs and ethical issues. The role requires strong subject knowledge, excellent classroom management skills, and a passion for supporting students’ academic and personal development. While the primary focus is on Religious Studies, the ability to contribute to the teaching of History and Sociology would be highly advantageous, offering greater flexibility within the humanities faculty. The school is looking for a practitioner who is committed to continuous improvement and enthusiastic about making a positive impact within a supportive and forward-thinking team.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
