Your New Role
As a Design Engineer, you will join an experienced and collaborative engineering team, playing a key role in the design and development of machinery from concept through to production. You will be responsible for delivering practical, cost-effective solutions while ensuring high standards of quality and performance.
Key responsibilities will include:
* Producing detailed 3D models and engineering drawings using CAD software
* Designing components and assemblies for screening and material handling equipment
* Supporting product development from initial concept through to manufacture
* Liaising with production, procurement, and external suppliers to ensure design feasibility
* Conducting design calculations and engineering analysis
* Driving continuous improvement initiatives within product design
* Assisting with testing, validation, and troubleshooting
* Ensuring designs comply with relevant standards and health & safety requirements
What You'll Need to SucceedTo be successful in this role, you should have:
* A degree (or equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline
* Proven experience in a design engineering role within a manufacturing or heavy engineering environment
* Strong proficiency in 3D CAD software (e.g. SolidWorks, Inventor, or similar)
* Experience in fabrication, sheet metal, or machinery design
* Good understanding of manufacturing processes and materials
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
* Ability to work independently and collaboratively
* Excellent communication skills
Desirable:
* Experience within recycling, quarrying, or material handling sectors
* Knowledge of hydraulic systems or mobile machinery
* Familiarity with design for manufacture (DFM) and lean principles
