Our client is a long-established and independent firm of Chartered Accountants based in the heart of Glasgow's business district. They are committed to delivering outstanding service and helping clients achieve long-term success and profitability.
As such, our client is seeking a dynamic and highly organised Business Support Manager to oversee the smooth running of our office operations and support team.
The Role
Reporting directly to the Partners, the Business Support Manager will play a vital role in the day-to-day running of our office. You’ll be the driving force behind our internal operations, ensuring seamless support across all departments while maintaining a high level of service for clients and stakeholders.
This is a varied and rewarding role that would suit a proactive, people-focused professional with strong organisational and time management skills.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead and manage the support team (secretary, admin assistant, office assistant) to ensure efficient office operations.
* Provide PA support to Partners and secretarial cover for the wider team when needed.
* Act as the main contact for our IT support partner, overseeing systems and regular IT reviews.
* Manage office facilities, suppliers, and contractors, including health & safety compliance and a drive toward paper-light practices.
* Handle office budgeting and monthly reconciliations for credit cards, pay-ins, and cheques.
* Oversee the billing process, including preparing and issuing monthly and quarterly invoices, managing schedules, and liaising with clients and Partners.
* Coordinate staff training with external providers to support development needs.
* Maintain the firm’s website and support client communications and marketing efforts.
* Organise internal and client-facing events including boardroom lunches, staff outings, and annual celebrations.
* Support wider administrative needs as required to ensure the office runs efficiently.
Experience our Client is seeking:
* Proven experience in office or business support management, ideally in a professional services setting.
* Strong financial acumen with experience handling budgets and reconciliations.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* High level of IT literacy and confidence managing external service providers.
* A team player with a proactive, hands-on approach and strong attention to detail.
* Ability to juggle multiple priorities with calm and confidence.
