The Recipe
You'll support the delivery of internal communications and colleague engagement activity that connects employees to Warburtons' purpose, values, and strategic direction. Working closely with the Internal Comms & Engagement Manager, this role brings communication plans to life through high-quality content, effective use of channels, and well-executed events that foster an engaged and informed workforce.
The Role
1. Strategic Development and Execution: Assist in developing and executing the internal communication and engagement strategy under the direction of the Internal Comms & Engagement Manager
2. Timely and high-quality delivery of communications plans; alignment with strategy
3. Produce and deliver regular communications that bring strategic narratives to life – including updates, announcements, and stories
4. Quality and consistency of communications; reach and colleague feedback
5. Create visually engaging and well-written content (articles, presentations, digital assets) for multiple platforms and audiences
6. Positive feedback from stakeholders; content quality and brand consistency
7. Coordinate the logistics and delivery of key events (e.g. town halls, celebrations, leader engagement sessions), ensuring smooth execution.
8. Event delivery feedback, participation levels, and satisfaction metric
9. Maintain and update internal communication channels (intranet, digital screens, email tools), ensuring content is timely, relevant and engaging
10. Channel usage rates, click-throughs, and feedback on usability
11. Collaborate with external suppliers (designers, printers, venues) to deliver materials and events to brief and within timelines
12. Supplier satisfaction; project delivery against deadlines
13. Assist in running engagement surveys and colleague feedback mechanisms, including analysis and collation of results
14. Survey response rates; insight presentation and action tracking
15. Support communication aspects of change programmes, working with the Manager to ensure clear, timely and supportive messaging
16. Colleague understanding of change; feedback on clarity and tone
17. Contribute to continuous improvement by suggesting ideas to evolve communication tools, methods, and storytelling approaches.
18. Implementation of new ideas; innovation in formats or channels
Essential Ingredients
19. Experience in internal communications, employee engagement, or a related field, with a demonstrable track record of delivering impactful communications and campaigns
20. Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to translate complex ideas into engaging and accessible messaging
21. Confidence in producing communication materials across various formats — written, visual, and digital — tailored to different internal audiences
22. Competent in using communication and design tools (e.g. Canva, PowerPoint, Adobe, intranet CMS platforms)
23. Experience supporting the planning and delivery of internal events, colleague forums, or leadership communications
24. Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines, with strong project coordination and organisational skills
25. Skilled at working cross-functionally and building collaborative relationships across levels and teams
26. Curious, proactive, and improvement-focused – brings fresh ideas and energy to content and campaigns
27. Awareness of change communication principles and a readiness to support colleagues through periods of change
28. Comfortable using digital communication channels and analysing engagement data (e.g. email open rates, intranet metrics, survey feedback) to inform future content
29. Professional and diplomatic, with a clear understanding of tone, discretion, and brand alignment in internal messaging
30. Experience supporting or contributing to internal engagement surveys and translating insight into action
31. Familiarity with employer brand and alignment between internal and external messaging
32. Understanding of how internal comms contributes to cultural alignment, engagement, and employee experience
33. Awareness of best practice in inclusive and accessible communication
