About the role:
We are working in partnership with a forward-thinking secondary school in Oldbury that is seeking a dedicated and passionate Religious Studies Teacher to join their team. This is an excellent opportunity for an inspiring teacher to engage students in exploring religion, philosophy, ethics, and cultural awareness, helping them to develop critical thinking and a deeper understanding of the world around them.
Role Responsibilities:
* Plan, prepare and deliver high-quality Religious Studies lessons that inspire, challenge and engage students.
* Develop schemes of work and lesson plans in line with the national curriculum and school policies.
* Assess, monitor, and track pupil progress, providing constructive feedback to support achievement.
* Create a positive and inclusive learning environment that fosters respect, reflection and open discussion.
* Contribute to the wider life of the school, including assemblies, enrichment activities and extracurricular opportunities.
* Collaborate with colleagues to share best practice and support whole-school initiatives.
* Uphold high standards of behaviour, safeguarding, and student welfare at all times.
Role Requirements:
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
* A degree in Religious Studies, Philosophy, Theology or a related subject.
* Strong subject knowledge and the ability to teach Religious Studies across Key Stages 3 and 4 (experience with KS5 is desirable).
* A passion for education and the ability to inspire students of all abilities.
* Have a DBS on the update service or willingness to obtain one.
* Excellent communication, organisational and classroom management skills.
* A commitment to continuous professional development and contributing positively to the school community.
