Job Title: Paint Shop Supervisor
EDGE INNOVATE is currently recruiting for a Paint Shop Supervisor to join our busy Paint Shop. The successful candidate will manage the Paint Shop facility to ensure a cost-effective and efficient manufacturing process.
Key Responsibilities
1. Service Delivery
* Supervise daily operations of the paint shop team.
* Provide guidance on all paint shop activities including blasting, prepping, painting, and repairs.
* Coach and mentor staff to develop skills.
* Estimate painting times, staffing, and costs to optimize production.
* Develop and improve manufacturing methods considering health, safety, and quality standards.
* Plan workspace utilization.
* Perform quality checks before and after jobs.
* Minimize rework requirements.
* Coordinate with the Fitting Shop and meet production targets.
* Report progress to the Production Manager.
* Communicate with management regarding capabilities and schedules.
* Monitor and record performance metrics to improve efficiency.
* Streamline purchasing and reduce costs.

* Apply performance management systems and support staff in setting KPIs.
* Maintain high personal and team performance standards.
2. Financial and Resource Management
* Ensure the Paint Shop operates efficiently and within financial targets.

Person Specification
Essential Qualifications & Experience: Degree-level qualification with 2-3 years supervisory experience in a similar industry; hands-on painting experience with heavy machinery.
Desirable: Management of a Paint Shop, stakeholder advisory experience, management/leadership qualification.
Skills & Competencies: Strong leadership, communication, problem-solving, organizational, and computer skills.
Circumstances: Ability to work flexible hours; strong leadership and planning skills; good time management.
