Domestic Supervisor
Location: Hereford County Hospital
Hours: 30 hours per week
Pay: £14.05 per hour

Your leadership will directly contribute to infection prevention, patient experience and the smooth running of clinical services. Responsibilities
* Lead the domestic team: supervise, motivate and support a team of domestic cleaners
* Manage rosters, work schedules and resource allocation
* Train, coach and develop team members
* Monitor performance, attendance and professional conduct
* Interview and welcome new employees
* Ensure all areas meet the 2007 National Specifications for Cleanliness
* Monitor standards using IT-based auditing systems
* Respond quickly to ad-hoc cleaning requests and emergencies
* Manage cleaning materials, consumables and equipment to minimise waste
* Ensure compliance with Trust and Sodexo policies, including infection prevention and control
* Build strong relationships with ward managers, matrons and service users
* Communicate clearly, politely and professionally
* Demonstrate compassion, empathy and a positive attitude
* Protect patient privacy, dignity and confidentiality
* Support a positive patient experience through visible, proactive service
* Ensure safe systems of work, COSHH, fire safety and hygiene standards are met
* Report accidents, near misses and health & safety concerns
* Use PPE and equipment safely
* Complete required audits, documentation and training
* Encourage team participation in mandatory training programmes
Qualifications
* NEBSS Certificate / NVQ Level 2 b BICS c CPSS b Food Hygiene qualification
* Health & Safety awareness
* Minimum 2 years’ experience in a cleaning team
* Supervisory or management experience
* Strong communication and customer service skills
* Ability to work independently and professionally in changing situations
* Good organisational and time‑management skills
* Computer literacy
* Physically able to push cleaning trolleys and move light furniture
* Compassion, empathy and respect for others
* Experience in a healthcare environment (desirable)
* Experience in a customer‑facing role (desirable)
* Institute of Environmental Health Officers Basic Food Hygiene certificate (desirable)
