Project Manager – Mixed Use Developments

London & South of England (travel required)
My client, a prestigious property developer, is looking to expand their Project Management team in the South of England. This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing business delivering high-quality developments across London and the wider South.
Reporting to the Project Director, you will work closely with Development Managers, Project Directors and the New Homes team to support the successful delivery of projects and the continued growth of the business.
The role will suit someone from a project management consultancy or client-side background.
You will be required to travel, with head office based in London and involvement across at least one London scheme and one development in the South of England.
Key Responsibilities
Supporting the Project Director or Senior Manager, your responsibilities will vary depending on project requirements and will include:
* Assisting with work bidding for new developments
* Procuring and appointing consultant teams
* Agreeing, managing and authorising consultant fees in line with cashflows and approvals
* Establishing and managing the client brief
* Managing design and procurement programmes and associated approvals
* Managing development budgets and ensuring cost control
* Assisting with third-party agreements, agreements for lease and funding agreements
* Managing neighbourly matters including rights of light and party wall issues
* Procuring and managing surveys and site investigations
* Supporting marketing and branding of developments
* Ensuring delivery in line with protocols and gateway approvals
* Managing procurement of main contractors and building contract documentation
* Procuring insurances for the development
* Supporting approvals to achieve start on site
* Managing and monitoring construction cashflow
* Attending site regularly to monitor quality and compliance with the brief
* Authorising payments, funding drawdowns and managing expenditure
* Managing completion, handover, snagging and defects
* Preparing progress reports, forecasts and board updates
* Attending scheme reviews and quarterly forecast meetings
* Sharing lessons learned across the business
* Building strong relationships with partners and the wider regional property and construction market
* Keeping up to date with market conditions, challenges and trends
* Identifying opportunities to innovate and improve ways of working
Career Development
Career progression is supported through a structured career pathway and access to a buddy and mentoring programme. Development in this role can lead to promotion to Senior Project Manager and ultimately Project Director, with full responsibility for the delivery of developments alongside a Development Director.
