The Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital (NNUH) serves a population of approximately 850,000 with a PPCI catchment population of over 1 million. NNUH is a 1200‑bedded multidisciplinary teaching hospital with a full range of medical, surgical, obstetric and diagnostic services.
Essential Qualifications
- Full GMC Registration.
- Entry on the GMC Specialist Register via O-CCT (Proposed CCT date must be within six months of the interview), OCESR or European Community Rights.
- Commitment to develop an appropriate special interest.
- Flexible outlook on working hours.
- Must be able to cover on‑call duties within 30 minutes or 15 miles of the hospital.
- Ability to travel across multiple sites, even when public transport is unavailable.
- Effective communication with clinical colleagues, pathology staff and support personnel.
- Effective presentation skills to an audience, using a variety of methods, and responding to questions and queries.
- Good communicator.
- Capability to work in a multi‑disciplinary team.
- Enthusiasm for service development and teaching.
- Demonstrated commitment to Equality, Diversity and Inclusion.
- Independent PCI operator capable of undertaking complex PCI and PPCI.
Desirable Qualifications and Experience
- MD or PhD.
- PCI fellowship with advanced techniques such as rotational atherectomy or CTO.
- Previous responsibility for service improvement.
- Management skills.
- Research skills.
- Experience in research or published papers in an area of special interest.
Experience
- Applicants who are nationals of another European country or overseas must demonstrate equivalence to the five years of training required in the National Health Service for the specialty.
