You will be the first point of contact for all safeguarding matters, ensuring the welfare and safety of all students remains paramount. You will work closely with the senior leadership team, external agencies, parents, and carers to create a safe, supportive learning environment where every pupil can thrive.
* Act as the lead professional for all safeguarding concerns and referrals.
* Maintain accurate and up-to-date safeguarding records in line with statutory requirements.
* Liaise effectively with external agencies such as social services, CAMHS, and police.
* Support staff with safeguarding training, guidance, and best practices.
* Build strong relationships with pupils to promote trust and safety.
We are seeking a passionate and experienced Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) to join a well-respected Alternative Provision in Stalybridge, catering for pupils in Year 10 and Year 11 who may have faced challenges in mainstream education. This is a temp-to-perm opportunity: you will initially work via the agency for 12 weeks before transitioning to a permanent contract directly with the school.
Requirements:
* Proven experience in a safeguarding leadership role within an educational setting.
* Up-to-date safeguarding training (DSL Level 3 or equivalent).
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to remain calm, professional, and proactive in challenging situations.
