Paralegal (Legal Assistant) - Housing
City of Wolverhampton Council – Fixed‑term contract (12 months), 37 hours per week, salary £36,363‑£40,777 (Grade 6).
Join our in‑house litigation and governance legal team. We support client departments with civil, regulatory, crime, public law, and housing management – including possession claims and tenancy disputes. The role provides legal support to the litigation team.
Responsibilities
* Provide support to the litigation team, including drafting court applications and other documentation.
* Taking instructions and conducting legal research.
* Perusing reports and statements from client departments, filing and serving documents.
* Creating and updating court bundles and holding a caseload of housing disrepair files.
Qualifications
* Qualifying Law Degree and LPC, SQE, BPC, or equivalent competence in legal matters.
* Experience in a legal office dealing with relevant work.
* Experience in litigation and housing management is desirable.
* Motivated, enthusiastic, and able to provide excellent legal advice and support.
* Desire to work in local government is desirable.
