About the opportunity
We are seeking a highly skilled NC Programmer with a strong background in Hypermill and CATIA to join our aerospace manufacturing team due to a sudden increase in workload. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing, optimizing, and validating CNC programs for complex aerospace components, ensuring precision, efficiency, and compliance with AS9100 and customer standards.
Key Responsibilities:

Create and optimize 5-axis CNC programs using Hypermill and CATIA.
*
Interpret complex aerospace engineering drawings and 3D models to develop machining strategies.
*
Collaborate with design, manufacturing, and quality teams to ensure manufacturability and compliance with customer specifications.
*
Select appropriate tooling, fixtures, and cutting strategies to maximize efficiency and tool life.
*
Conduct simulations and verifications to ensure collision-free toolpaths and optimal cycle times.
*
Support first article inspections (FAI) and resolve any programming-related issues on the shop floor.
*
Continuously improve machining processes to reduce cycle times and improve quality.
*
Maintain documentation and revision control of NC programs and related process sheets.
Required Qualifications:
*
Proven experience as an NC Programmer in the aerospace or precision engineering sector.
*
Proficiency in Hypermill and CATIA for CAM and CAD tasks.
*
Strong understanding of GD&T, aerospace materials, and machining best practices.
*
Experience with 5-axis machining and high-precision components.
*
Familiarity with AS9100 quality standards and aerospace documentation requirements.
*
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
*
Strong communication and collaboration skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
*
Experience with Vericut, or other CAM verification tools.
*
Knowledge of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies.
*
Background in working with OEMs or Tier 1 aerospace suppliers.
