The James Brown Fellowship in Head & Neck Surgery and Reconstruction at NHS University Hospitals of Liverpool Group. Two full-time, fixed-term posts in Head and Neck oncology with reconstruction from August 2026 for 12 months.

Aintree University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, part of Liverpool University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. The Regional Maxillofacial Unit provides a comprehensive service in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery to the residents of South Sefton and Liverpool and more broadly to Merseyside and Cheshire. The unit operates a hub-and-spoke model with major surgery centralised at the hub (Aintree) and peripheral outpatient and minor surgery at spoke hospitals.
Requirements
* Fully registered with the General Medical Council (GMC)
* Post-FRCS(OMFS) / peri/post-CCT OMFS trainees with specific interest and proven ability in oncology and reconstruction
Responsibilities
* Provide major Head and Neck oncology surgery with microvascular free flap reconstruction
* Attend and contribute to Head and Neck MDT discussions; prepare and present patients
* Engage in data collection and publish on the unit's clinical outcomes
* Participate in the on-call rota (1:8) from home for out-of-hours monitoring and management of complex reconstructions
* Maintain attendance at Head and Neck clinic and weekly MDT; contribute to patient care planning
Job Plan
The post would be targeted at a post-FRCS(OMFS) peri/post-CCT OMFS trainee with a focus on oncology and reconstruction. The job plan is optimised to allow two, three-session lists per week to support engagement in suitable cases.
Salary & Benefits
Pay scale equivalent to national higher trainees at a comparable level. On-call 1:8 included.
