Specialty Doctor in Older Adult Psychiatry

Entry criteria
1. A doctor appointed to this grade shall have full registration and a Licence to Practice with the General Medical Council (GMC) and shall have completed at least four years’ full-time postgraduate training (or its equivalent gained on a less than full-time or flexible basis) at least two of which will be in a specialty training programme or specialty registrar locum appointment for training (LAT);
2. Or shall have equivalent training, experience or competencies, either in the UK or overseas.
3. Applications are welcome for the above Permanent (40 hours per week) post based in East Lothian Community Hospital.
Role and development
Working with an enthusiastic team of clinicians in a vibrant, rapidly developing, and supportive psychiatry service, these posts offer the opportunity to develop clinical and professional competence in a purposeful and supervised manner. These posts are aimed at CT3+ level and open to doctors who are about to or have recently completed a core training programme or have equivalent relevant experience. In addition, the clinical development will be combined with supervised and directed opportunities linked to an area of mutual professional interest including clinical teaching and simulation, quality improvement and safety, and clinical leadership development.
