Graduate Engineer – Subsea/Pipelines

Wood's Consulting service line is recruiting for Graduate Engineers to join our graduate programme based in Staines‑Upon‑Thames from Summer 2026. As a Wood Graduate you will join a culture of innovation, pushing the boundaries of what is possible to seek the best solutions for our clients. We are actively involved in world‑leading projects supporting the global energy transition and are committed to remaining at the forefront of this energy revolution. We also support projects that provide continued energy while the world pivots toward a green energy future.


The Role

We are looking for dynamic individuals who want to make a difference to the energy transition, supporting our projects in subsea and onshore energy transportation, including hydrogen, carbon capture, renewable and conventional energies. Supporting the energy transition through decarbonisation and green energies is a key part of our plans and we expect significant growth in these sectors while meeting commitments to existing hydrocarbon development infrastructure. Our graduate engineers will work on a range of projects under the guidance of experienced engineers and managers. The work and training will support the development of the graduate engineer and allow them to apply advanced engineering skills and management techniques to our range of projects.


Our Clients and Projects

Within Technical Consulting, our clients range from both major and independent operators of onshore oil & gas and clean energy facilities such as CCUS and windfarms, through to suppliers, fabricators and EPC contractors. We execute projects from concept through detailed design, construction and commissioning on a world‑wide basis. Responsibilities

We are looking for high‑achieving graduates with a desire to learn – the ideal candidates should have a minimum 2:1 bachelor’s or master’s degree in an Engineering field (detailed under qualifications), enjoy problem‑solving/troubleshooting, detailed analysis and be willing to embrace new ideas.

Qualifications

* Graduate engineer with a minimum 2:1 bachelor’s degree in an Engineering field or a master’s degree in mechanical, Civil, Sustainable Energy, Process, Pipelines, Subsea Engineering or other disciplines relating to clean energy, upstream and midstream oil and gas or offshore renewables industries from a recognised university
* Preference will be given to graduates with previous appropriate industry experience gained before, during or after their university courses
* Engineers who have undergone an undergraduate internship in the area of subsea/pipeline/renewables engineering will have an added advantage
* Demonstrate initiative, resilience and excellent communication skills
* Possess an ability to learn quickly and be adaptable and flexible to match business requirements
* Ability to work in multi‑disciplinary team environments
* Must have the right to work in the UK
