Head of Sales – Bishops Cleeve
Ontic, leading licensor and manufacturer of complex engineering parts for the global aerospace and defence industries, is recruiting a Head of Sales to lead our ROW Sales organisation from our Bishops Cleeve site. This leadership role will drive predictable growth, lead a high‑performing sales team and deliver against ambitious commercial objectives.
Role Overview & Purpose
We are seeking an experienced, commercially astute Head of Sales to own the entire sales pipeline, KPI’s and processes. You will translate business priorities into clear direction, structured execution and measurable outcomes, aligning strategy, pipeline and commercial execution to achieve bookings targets and support Ontic’s growth.
Key Responsibilities
* Execute the sales pipeline and achieve Ontic’s organic growth bookings targets, translating high‑level targets into actionable sales plans and maintaining alignment with business priorities.
* Own all sales KPI’s and processes, managing, reporting and achieving all metrics and targets set by the business.
* Ensure opportunities are well‑qualified and actively managed, progressing in a timely manner with focus on strategic, high‑value deals.
* Support pricing targets and initiatives, negotiating and positioning deals to balance revenue, margin and long‑term value.
* Build and maintain senior relationships with key accounts, representing Ontic at a strategic level across civil and military aerospace markets.
* Act as the primary interface between Sales and other departments, ensuring alignment of commercial commitments with operational delivery.
* Continuously improve sales processes, including CRM discipline, reporting standards and ways of working, to ensure structure, data integrity and efficiency.
* Develop the capability of the sales team, coaching, performance managing and building skills to strengthen customer engagement, negotiation and overall effectiveness.

* Excellent commercial acumen, managing complex negotiations and high‑value deals.
* A structured, data‑driven approach to sales management, forecasting and pipeline development.
* Strong stakeholder management skills, influencing at senior levels internally and externally.
Additional Requirements
* Degree‑level education (or equivalent experience).
* Proficiency in CRM systems, Excel and executive‑level reporting.
* Solid technical understanding of aerospace systems and components.
* Flexibility to travel domestically and internationally as required.
