Hours: Monday to Friday, full-time. Additional hours as required to support the role.

Role Overview
We are looking for an experienced Sales/Commercial Manager to lead our sales and customer-facing operations, working alongside the current commercial manager who is looking to retire.
This is a hands-on role, with day-to-day involvement in orders, customers, pricing and service delivery. You will be responsible for keeping sales organised, supporting the office team, growing accounts, and making sure customers get a consistent, high-quality service.
You’ll work closely with the managing director, office manager, transport, and yard teams to keep everything running smoothly.
As you will be working for a small (but growing) business, you will need to be versatile and adaptable and happy to get stuck in.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead sales and support admin team
* Oversee incoming orders via phone, email and digital channels
* Manage customer relationships across trade, construction and local clients
* Drive sales growth while maintaining service standards and margins
* Work closely with transport and yard teams to coordinate deliveries and collections
* Handle pricing, quotations, and customer accounts
* Monitor sales performance and report to directors
* Ensure accurate invoicing and support resolution of any payment or account queries
* Improve sales processes, systems and customer experience
* Support marketing and customer communication where needed
Skills and Experience
* Proven experience in a sales management or sales role
* Background in construction, aggregates, recycling or related industries strongly preferred
* Confident supporting a small yard team
* Strong customer service and communication skills
* Commercially aware, with a practical approach to problem-solving
* Organised, reliable, and comfortable in a fast-paced environment
* Competent with Microsoft Office and CRM or order systems
