We are seeking an enthusiastic individual with a passion for animals to join us as a Veterinary Patient Care Assistant at our Newnham Court Vets in Kent.
You'll be joining us on a full-time, permanent basis, working 35 hours per week.
The shift pattern will include a mix of early and late shifts with weekend work on the OOH team.

About the role:
The Patient Care Assistant role is fundamental to an outstanding veterinary practice. As a PCA, you will support our team of qualified RVNs and Vets to provide exceptional care to our patients.
Your duties will include:
* Nursing care for patients
* Assisting Vets and Nurses in animal restraint for treatment
* Cleaning, walking, and feeding patients
* Preparing emergency and operating facilities
* General cleaning and maintenance
* Running internal lab samples
* Answering emergency calls
* Covering the receptionist desk, including answering queries, booking appointments, and processing payments
What we're looking for in our Veterinary Patient Care Assistant:
* An excellent communicator with strong empathy
* Excellent customer service skills and experience interacting with the public
* Experience in animal welfare, including feeding, cleaning, medicating, and handling animals, with a high understanding of meeting their welfare needs
* Resilience to cope with potentially distressing and emotional situations
* A positive attitude and strong teamwork skills
* Experience in a veterinary environment would be advantageous
