Overview
Personal Assistant required for 5 hours and 15 minutes per week at £13.00 per hour.
Primary Responsibilities
* Prepare and make meals for the employer daily, discussing meal choices with the employer and then preparing the meals accordingly. This is due to the employers seizures and safety concerns.
* Prepare a drink of choice for the employer.
* Support with telephone calls.
* Clean up following meal preparation.
* There is a dog in the property; please be mindful of pet considerations.
Core Duties
* Supporting the employer with encouragement in gaining independence.
* Enabling the employer to interact socially in their community.
* Providing support to the employer whilst shopping and attending activities of interest.
* Supporting the employer to develop independent living skills.
* Providing companionship in the employer’s home, including engaging in conversation and providing social interaction.
* Encouraging the employer to attend appointments.
* Ensuring the employer’s safety at all times during working hours.
* Carrying out any other reasonable tasks requested by the employer during working hours.
* Ensuring compliance with the Data Protection Act.
* Be mindful of safeguarding issues and feedback any concerns to Carmarthenshire County Council immediately on (01267 228751).
* Be responsible for contacting the GP, Social Worker, or Local Authority should medical assistance be needed.

* Ability to develop a supportive and caring relationship with the employer.
* Undertake all duties in a friendly and helpful manner.
* Able to contact people on behalf of the employer when necessary.
Job Working Environment
Working in the employer’s home and supporting them to access facilities and community activities.
Person Specification – Qualifications, Knowledge, Experience & Skills
* Caring, patient and friendly.
* Responsible, reliable and honest.
* Proactive and self-motivated with the ability to work on own initiative.
* Has good local knowledge of the area where the employer lives.
* Good time-keeping and flexibility around working patterns and duties as determined by the employer’s requirements.
* Ability to keep simple records such as time recording.
* Good communicator able to talk to people on behalf of the employer when required.
* Able to develop long-term supportive and consistent relationships with employers.
* A full, clean driving licence and use of a car is likely to be required, determined by the employer’s needs and whether you live within walking distance.
* Be prepared to have business use on vehicle insurance to be able to use the vehicle within work hours.
* Be prepared to undergo training in order to best meet the employer’s needs.
