An exciting opportunity has arisen for a BSc Degree Podiatry apprentice to join the team and 'learn why they earn'. We are looking for a dynamic, enthusiastic and highly motivated individual. The apprentice will be required to provide assessment, treatment and interventions for our high risk caseload within Torbay and South Devon NHS Foundation Trust, whilst being supported to undertake the Podiatry degree apprenticeship.
The person will combine working 4 days a week across a range of clinics, hospitals, health centres and homes across Torbay and South Devon and undertaking academic study with the University of Plymouth.
Ability to travel around the district as a car owner/driver is essential to be able to undertake home visits.
The post holder will have clinical responsibility for delivering high quality care to a caseload across the Torbay and South Devon area and will be working closely with other community healthcare workers and provider agencies within a variety of care settings including community clinics, domiciliary work, care homes and contribute to the development of the podiatry team. Be responsible for the management and treatment of a caseload of patients across a variety of locations within the Torbay and South Devon area, providing a comprehensive assessment of podiatric need, relevant health education, planned podiatric care packages and referral to other health care professionals as required.

The podiatry department consists of 51 clinical comprising of Head of Service, Team Leads, Specialist podiatrists, podiatrists, assistant practitioners and clinical support staff. We also have eight administrative staff.
