Who You Are You have a passion for working with 16 and 17-year-old young people and their families, aiming to achieve positive outcomes. You are tenacious, persistent, and resilient with an excellent ability to develop positive relationships with young people, their families, and partner agencies. You understand the issues young people face with homelessness and have a good grasp of relevant legislation. You possess significant experience working with children and families, including post-qualifying experience as a Social Worker. What the Job Involves You will work as part of the Homeless Intervention Team, which supports 16 and 17-year-olds who are homeless or at risk of homelessness. You will collaborate with families and other agencies to ensure young people can safely remain at or return home. If alternative housing is needed, you will assess and support young people to develop independent living skills and explore accommodation options. You will be involved in assessments, creating outcome-focused plans, and ensuring the welfare and safety of young people. The role requires maintaining accurate records, participating in supervision processes, attending relevant meetings, and representing the authority in court when necessary.
