Quality & Compliance Manager
Responsible to: Director of Governance
Purpose of Role: The Quality Manager will lead, develop, and maintain a robust Quality, Governance, and Compliance framework across the organisation, ensuring alignment with ISO standards, regulatory requirements, and business objectives.
Location: Sheffield (min 4 days office based)
We are looking for an experienced Quality Manager to lead and strengthen quality, governance, and compliance across our organisation. This is a key leadership role for someone who combines strong quality management expertise with people management experience and a background in digital or healthcare environments.
The Role
As Quality Manager, you will take ownership of the organisation’s Quality Management System and lead continuous improvement across services. You will manage a small Quality function, work closely with operational and clinical leads, and ensure compliance with ISO standards, regulatory expectations, and best‑practice governance.
This role suits someone who is confident operating at both a strategic and hands‑on level, with the ability to translate quality and regulatory requirements into practical, operational delivery.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead and maintain the organisation’s Quality Management System (QMS), policies, procedures, and document control.
* Line manage and develop the Quality team, ensuring effective delivery of quality, audit, and compliance activities.
* Act as the central point of contact for quality issues, non‑conformances, complaints, and CAPA activity.
* Lead internal audits and support external audits and inspections.
* Analyse quality data, incidents, complaints, and KPIs to identify risks, trends, and improvement opportunities.
* Oversee governance, risk management, and reporting to senior leadership and governance forums.
* Support and promote a culture of continuous improvement and quality awareness across the organisation.
* Ensure ongoing compliance with relevant ISO standards and healthcare and digital regulatory requirements.
About You
Essential Requirements
* Degree‑level qualification (or equivalent professional experience).
* Proven line management experience, including supporting, developing, and performance‑managing staff.
* Practical experience working within a quality management role in either a healthcare, diagnostics, digital, or regulated environment.
* Experience working with ISO‑aligned Quality Management Systems.
* Strong understanding of risk management, non‑conformance management, audits, and continuous improvement.
* Confident communicator, able to work with staff at all levels of the organisation.
* Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret and report on quality and performance data.
Desirable
* Experience in healthcare, digital health, medical devices, or regulated digital services.
* Knowledge of healthcare or information governance frameworks (e.g. CQC, DSP Toolkit, UKCA, ISO standards).
* Experience using digital quality systems, reporting tools, or dashboards (e.g. Power BI).
* Quality, governance, or health and safety qualifications.
