Job Overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Clerical Services Co‑ordinator within the Division of Medicine, based at Ysbyty Glan Clwyd.


Responsibilities

The Clerical Services Coordinator will be responsible for the provision of operational and day‑to‑day management of clerical and administrative services within Medicine, working closely with the Site Specialty Managers.

Medicine is a fast‑paced and diverse division, consisting of Gastroenterology (including the Endoscopy Unit, Renal (including the Renal Dialysis Ward)), Respiratory, Cardiology (including the Cath Lab and ECG), COTE, Rheumatology, Diabetes, Neurology and the Medical Wards.

The post holder will provide day‑to‑day operational management of the administration and clerical staff within the division and support the Medicine Management Team in ensuring sound administrative processes are in place to support the Directorate clinical teams in achieving operational objectives in an efficient and effective way.

Excellent written and communication skills together with the ability to prioritise work and meet deadlines are essential. The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Qualifications

* Good standard of general / higher education (Certificate Level)
* Evidence of continuous / ongoing learning
* Degree level (Management) or equivalent experience.


Desirable qualifications

* Professional Management Qualification
* Currently pursuing a qualification in NHS Management


Experience


Essential experience

* Extensive experience of staff management
* Previous experience of managing financial resources
* Knowledge of waiting list management
* Experience of handling complex/sensitive complaints or situations/issues
* Able to communicate with all levels of staff representatives and managers in a clear and confident manner
* Sound knowledge of IT system


Desirable experience

* Previous NHS experience
* Experience of project work
* Management of databases
